Details
We have 3 great talks lined up this month:
Timing Attacks and Rails - Nick Malcolm
Timing Attacks are a method attackers use to compromise systems, by analyzing the time it takes for different requests to run. In this talk we'll look at common attack scenarios, and how to defend against them in your Rails apps.
Nick is CTO @ ThisData, a :sparkles: cyber security :sparkles: startup based out of New Zealand's greatest city, Auckland.
Note: Nick will beam in via video conference for his talk.
Short talk: ImageTragick and Rails - Gordon Chan
ImageTragick is a collection of security vulnerabilities affecting the ImageMagick image processing library. One of the vulnerabilities can lead to remote code execution and allow an attacker gain remote access to a computer system. Gordon Chan from Optimal Workshop will talk about how Ruby on Rails applications may be affected by ImageTragick and demonstrate the vulnerability on common image upload libraries.
Rails and Reality as a Bootcamp Graduate - Raquel Moss
What's it like getting into the industry as a bootcamp graduate? A year on from her time at Enspiral Dev Academy, Raquel Moss discusses the ups and downs working as a Rails developer, turning unknown unknowns into known knowns, and how you can support your bootcamp graduate colleagues.
Important: Please note the new location!
(It's a bit more roomy too)
