In March the team at Paloma (formerly Dovetail) will host us at their office to learn about how they use Rails in the ventures they're involved with.
Paloma is a product agency, venture studio and VC firm that works with established and early-stage tech companies to build world-class products and new startups. They are best known for building the consumer-facing tech behind several unicorns, including Afterpay.
Paloma currently use Rails on ChemCloud and have previously used it on Afterpay, Runn and Marmalade
Talks
- "Bundler from inside out", Thong Kuah, Staff Engineer at GitLab, will take us through some learnings from working with the Bundler source code.
- "How we used Rails to build a marketplace in record time", Saurabh Bhatia, Engineering Manager at Paloma.
About the speaker: Saurabh had 16 years of Rails experience and now spends his time as an engineer trying this best to be a manager.
About the talk: The time’s October 2021. The brief: Build and Launch a marketplace with features like real time chat before Christmas with just 2 people and limited venture budget?
The Answer: Rails 7 enters the room and 2 months later, we were ready to be launched to the world. This is a short story about that.
