Details

In September the Delivereasy team will host us at their office to learn more about what they do and the technology they use.

Delivereasy is a NZ owned & operated delivery service that started delivering restaurant food in Welly in 2016, and has since expanded to 30+ areas in NZ. Originally built by one of the founders in Rails, the tech stack now has Rails + TypeScript + Flutter.

Talks

  • Intro to Allyship by Cass Guinut, a Developer at Abletech. We will discuss the definition of allyship and explain key concepts to start you on your journey to become a better ally. We will also touch on the importance of allyship in tech, and in particular in web development.
  • Intro to Flutter by Ben Anderson, CTO at Delivereasy. A short rapid-fire introduction to Flutter and some of it's comparisons to working with React and similar web technologies.

Q&A

During the meetup there'll be a Q&A for Delivereasy which is your chance to ask anything you'd like to know. Are you curious about tech stacks, development culture, infrastructure?

You'll be prompted to ask a question when you RSVP or you can ask them on the night.

Doors open at 5pm and we'll kick off at 5.20pm.

About Wellrailed

Wellrailed is a Wellington based Rails meetup which has been part of the Rails community for over 10 years! Wellington is home to many companies who use Ruby on Rails so we're doing bi-monthly meetups hosted by a different company.

This is your chance to learn some stuff, network with your peers and learn more about how various local companies use Rails!

If you're interested in doing a talk or hosting an event, please get in touch with co-organisers Jordan Crawford or AJ Esler via Meetup.com or via the RubyNZ Slack.

Code of Conduct

At Wellrailed events we expect attendees to follow the Ruby NZ code of conduct - see ruby.nz/code-of-conduct
