Talks
Intro to Connascence by Andy Hansen, a Tech Lead at Flick Electric
We know that low coupling and high cohesion are at the core of writing code that is easy to maintain. Experienced developers do this intuitively, but how do we put these concepts into words? Connascence is a software quality metric that gives us a set of rules that allow us to identify and (roughly) measure the coupling that occurs within our codebases. Audience participation is greatly encouraged, so you are more than welcome to read a bit about it before coming along!
Migrating from Webpacker to Vite by AJ Esler
Why you might want to change build systems, what issues we've hit along the way, and whether it was worth it.
Q&A
During the meetup there'll be a Q&A for PaperKite. This is your chance to ask anything you'd like to know. Are you curious about their tech stack, development culture, infrastructure?
You'll be prompted to ask a question when you RSVP or you can ask them on the night.
Schedule
Doors open at 5pm and we'll kick off at 5.20pm.

About Wellrailed
Wellrailed is a Wellington based Rails meetup which has been part of the Rails community for over 10 years! Wellington is home to many companies who use Ruby on Rails so we're doing bi-monthly meetups hosted by a different company.
This is your chance to learn some stuff, network with your peers and learn more about how various local companies use Rails!
If you're interested in doing a talk or hosting an event, please get in touch with co-organisers Jordan Crawford or AJ Esler via Meetup.com or via the RubyNZ Slack.
Code of Conduct
At Wellrailed events we expect attendees to follow the Ruby NZ code of conduct - see ruby.nz/code-of-conduct
