RE: [running-304] Are you aware of our upcoming Mile Time Trial?

Okay... is this appropriate for people who have never done a time trial, who have always just plodded along but who would like to start doing tempo runs and such to improve performance and need a baseline but are dragging their feet starting on their own? That would be me.
Name Dianne Jessup, age 58 (how did I get that old?), female and probably 10 to 10:30.

Date: Fri, 20 Jul[masked]:56:29 -0400

A heads up that our annual Mile TT will be on Wednesday, August 8th this year.  In our third year, this will be the
largest event yet.  As always, we offer a minimum of $150 in cash prizes, drawings for all kinds of cool things
from our sponsors (American Diabetes Association, Super Jock 'N Jill, Zeeks Pizza, Magnuson Run Series and Brooks Shoes) and
Raffles for an autographed Alberto Salazar Prize Package and, tentatively, a Jim Ryun autographed autobiography.

We would love to have you come and participate!

Walkers more than welcome.
Haven't been around for a while and want to catch up with old acquaintances?
Bring your pre-teens for the free kids run.
Cash prizes for closest predicted times.  If you need to sharpen up your prediction skills we have two more Wed. night interval sessions to hone in on it.

It is helpful, though not mandatory, if you mail your Name, Age, gender and predicted time to [address removed]
during July.  This will allow things to run smoother the night of the event and save you 40% on your entry fee
($3 vs. $5! Not payable until you show up on the 8th.).

We hope to see you at the Nathan Hale High School Track on the night of August 8th.
