Repack at Greater Chicago Food Depository

Join us for a meaningful afternoon of volunteering at the Greater Chicago Food Depository! We’ll be repacking donated and purchased food, which helps ensure that food pantries, soup kitchens, and shelters across Cook County can continue to provide nutritious meals to those in need. As a group, we’ll work together to break down bulk food items into manageable sizes, sorting and boxing produce, bread, and dry goods.
Whether you’re a first-timer or a seasoned volunteer, this session is a great way to give back to the community, learn more about food insecurity, and make a real impact!
Important Details:

• Arrival: Please arrive 15-30 minutes early for orientation.
• Dress Code: Long pants, shirts that cover your shoulders, and fully enclosed shoes are required for safety.
• Age Requirements: Volunteers must be 11+ years old.
• Parking: Free parking is available along Karlov Ave, Ann Lurie Place, and Keeler Ave. Please note that the staff parking lot is only available during Saturday sessions.
