COMMON RUST PITFALLS FOR A C++ DEVELOPER
Alex Sedighi, blockchain developer at Centrality, will show the road bumps ahead, hint to the common mistakes and suggest some coding practices by considering the capabilities of Rust as a super modern language.
We'll also have a second look at some concepts and techniques such as Cargo (check, fetch, update, doc), Compiler default assumptions, References, etc. and see what could be the possible misunderstanding and/or misuse of them.
REALTIME COLLABORATIVE EDITING: RUST EDITION
Joseph Gentle, an all-terrain programmer and Rust enthusiast, will demo statecraft, which is a real-time data transport for viewing data that changes over time (like collaborative documents, server status or live database queries).
Seph made a prototype in typescript but has been porting it to Rust with async over the past while and will show it off and talk about what he's trying to do with it and some lessons learned in Rust.
This month we'll run the virtual event given the current global situation. Please use this link to join us - https://zoom.us/j/732974354.
