December Talks + Rust Book Raffle

I'm excited to say we are doing talks again, courtesy of David Wood and Richard Bownes!

There will be something for people just getting started as well as wanting to go a bit deeper:

• David: "Touring Rustc: Declarative Macros"
• Richard: "Extending Python with Rust - A friendly introduction to compiled languages."

We'll also be giving away a free copy of the excellent "Zero To Production In Rust" by Luca Palmieri which is also a great book for getting started in your journey with Rust.

We are generously hosted this evening within Huawei's Edinburgh Research Centre, where David works in the Programming Languages Group.

Rough plan for this evening:

• 18:30: Doors open, people arrive, get some Pizza / drinks
• 19:00->19:30: Quick overall intro then First talk + Q/A
• 19:30->19:40: Toilet break / refreshing drinks
• 19:40->20:10: Second talk + Q/A
• 20:10->20:30 Raffle of book and Outro
• 20:30: For anyone still wanting to chat, head to The Hanging Bat bar
