Bare Metal Rust on Embedded ARM Cortex

Thank you to everyone who attended our Inaugural Meetup!

It was suggested that we do a group project, of sufficient complexity, and work on the various portions of it in an iterative manner. I think that is a fantastic idea, and would like to kick-off just such a project at this Meetup!

I will be bringing in an ARM-Cortex development board, and we will start by getting some "bare metal" Rust working.

Additionally, we're going to float the plans for this rather elaborate project, which will include custom hardware design, embedded firmware (as just mentioned), sensors, cloud servers, Android and iOS applications, communications, and some "Big Data" analytics.

I'm not going to elaborate further until the Meetup (hey, I need something to draw people in). But, I can promise you that if you don't find this project interesting, you probably need a total career change (out of STEM).
