What we’re about
Rust Dortmund (recordings on YouTube) is a local meetup for people who are working with Rust or are eager to learn Rust. We welcome beginners, students, and seasoned developers from all fields. Most attendees are bi-lingual in English and German.
Rust is a young multi-purpose programming language. It combines the freedom of C/C++ with better tooling than in the Typescript and Python stack and memory safety plus data-race protection which is checked at compile time.
To highlight multi-purpose: Rust is used for web-backends, runs parts of the AWS infrastructure, became part of the Linux and Windows kernel and finds more and more adoption in industries like automotive, aerospace, etc.
We encourage to nerd out and show-case your projects, give talks to each other exploring the constantly evolving Rust Ecosystem and are certain you'll have exciting chats.

We’re open to beginners and skilled developers alike and want to shape a regional community that supports each other in working with, and learning, Rust. Whether you’re into systems programming, embedded applications, or web development, Rust’s multi-paradigm nature has something for everyone.
