Join us for Rust Dortmund - Talk and Connect - Fullstack
In this format we have impulsive talks with a time to network and connect afterward. Although this talks are focused on Rusts Fullstack capabilities, feel free to discuss embedded and system programming too.

Rust is a language empowering everyone to build reliable and efficient software and we want to let off this energy in the Ruhr area.

We’re open to beginners and skilled developers alike and want to shape a regional community that supports each other in working with, and learning, Rust. Whether you’re into systems programming, embedded applications, or web development, Rust’s multi-paradigm nature has something for everyone.

Abstract - Beyond Javascript -- Writing a Web Application Full Stack with Rust - Goetz Markgraf
Are you working on a project where you write code both on the backend and on the frontend? Are you tired of constantly swapping half of your brain when switching programming language, standard library and idiomatic ways of programming?

In this talk, I take a look at setups where frontend and backend are written in the same programming language. What are the pros and cons? We then take a deep dive into a promising candidate: writing backend and frontend completely in Rust. How mature is the ecosystem? What does it look and feel like? How is the developer experience?

I'm Goetz, senior agile consultant at codecentric AG. I love creating seamless, high-quality solutions for both backend and frontend. I help teams build cohesive, efficient systems by exploring innovative development approaches.

Bio - Ben Wishovich
I'm Ben(benwis), a full stack web developer passionate about building high quality web apps. I help individuals and companies build flexible and maintainable web apps and ecommerce sites to handle anything the web can throw at them. I've been writing Rust for over four years, and am a core contributor to Leptos, a Signals based Rust frontend web framework. Besides Rust, I'm an avid cook, middling cyclist, and overall nerd.

Detailed Directions
If you arrive via car, there is a huge parking space at the pins Location. You'll see it if you approach the barrier. It is a bit hidden.

Public Transport via U-Bahn (U47 or U49) to U Hafen (3 stations from Dortmund main station) Plus a short walk.

To enter the Industrie-Campus you have to pass a barrier. Register at the barrier that you would like to go to the Digitale Werkbank.

Follow the yellow dots on the ground and enter the building where they end. We're on the 2nd floor. Some parts of the building are still quite rough, but this adds a nice industrial atmosphere.
