Rust "Byte Size": “The Outs and Ins of the new MongoDB Rust Driver” (online)

Details

*** We've been thinking about how we can restart Rust Meetup online but in a way which acknowledges possible online fatigue. So, introducing the new "Byte Size" format .... ***

“The Outs and Ins of the new MongoDB Rust Driver”, by Mark Smith

Summary: “MongoDB have been working hard on adding Rust as a fully supported client language for MongoDB, and the new driver reached beta this month. Mark Smith will run you through the basics of how to use it and how it was developed, including (maybe) interesting techniques used to support tokio, async-std and non-async programming approaches”

Plan for the evening:

19:00: 5 mins intro, including any interesting community news
19:05: 15 mins Lightning Talk, either live or pre-recorded on YouTube; with Q/A gathered in parallel through Slido (https://www.sli.do/)
19:20: 10 mins Live Q/A, driven by Slido, answered by presenter
19:30: close-out + (optional) 10 mins open chat for anyone who's interested

This initial Meetup will likely be Zoom + Slido + (maybe) YouTube, but we plan to hold a series of these Byte Size talks, and iterate as we go. Feedback, preferences, and suggestions from the community are very much wanted.

(Links to Zoom and other tools will be provided closer to the time of the talk)
