Following the success of the first Rust Gdansk Meetup, we're excited to announce that the second meeting is just around the corner. Join us to meet Krzysztof and Mariusz, true enthusiasts of Rust, who develop Rustmas project.

Rustmas is a controller for programmable Christmas lights, allowing you to make almost any object into a 3-dimensional display. With some basic image processing, programmable LEDs in any arrangement can be used to display colorful animations in 2D or 3D. And all of it, from the low-level code communicating directly with the lights, through rendering logic and animation API, to 3D visualizer and a web application for switching between the animations, is written in Rust.

In this talk we will tell you more about this project, how it works, and how it utilizes Rust to do all the things it does. We will discuss the development process of the last 1.5 years, unexpected issues we encountered, and lessons we've learned.
