About us

Rust is showing up everywhere: in firmware running on microcontrollers, in the WebAssembly modules replacing JavaScript at the edge, and in the distributed systems moving billions of dollars across the world. The Irish community deserves a Rust meetup that focuses on what people build with it.

This group is for:
Embedded developers shipping Rust to constrained devices.

Distributed systems engineers using Rust for databases, networking, high-throughput backends, and blockchains.

WebAssembly practitioners taking Rust beyond the browser to edge, serverless, and component architectures.

Open source is the centre of gravity. Rust exists because thousands of contributors choose to build in the open, and we run this group on the same principle. If you maintain a Rust crate, we want you on stage. If you've never opened a PR, this is a good place to ship your first.

If you've never written a line of Rust but want to, you're welcome too. We just won't spend the night explaining &mut.

Ultimately, this group exists to bring Rustaceans together to advance the world's most loved programming language.

Maintainers, contributors, and curious learners in the same room is how the language keeps moving forward.
