📣 An Introduction to Veilid (Christien Rioux)
5:40pm CET
Veilid allows anyone to build a distributed, private app. Veilid gives users the privacy to opt out of data collection and online tracking. Veilid is being built with user experience, privacy, and safety as our top priorities. It is open source and available to everyone to use and build upon. Veilid is heavily using Rust, so let us have a look how Veilid works and what it can do.
ℹ️ About Christien Rioux
Christien Rioux is the primary author and inventor of Veilid's core technology. A long-time member and figure in the security industry and hacker scene, Christien is a member of CULT OF THE DEAD COW, and formerly L0pht Heavy Industries, the formative hacker think-tank. He has been a company founder and published numerous security tools and advisories over the years, and is also proprietor of the hacker-fashion line HACK.XXX. Christien is a staunch believer that if you want to change the present you need to build the future.

📣 Code in Rust with RustRover (by Vitaly Bragilevsky)
Approx. 6:20pm CET
RustRover is a Rust IDE recently launched by JetBrains. RustRover implements out-of-the-box experience and provides a lot of functionality for Rust developers. In this talk, I'll overview the most useful as well as lesser-known RustRover features and show how to use them effectively to get your job done. Among other things, I'll dive into the RustRover debugger and prove that it's time to abandon the general practice to print things out while debugging your code!
ℹ️ About Vitaly Bragilevsky
I'm a developer advocate at JetBrains. I taught more than a dozen programming languages and other Computer Science topics at universities for more than 20 years. I authored "Haskell in Depth", published by Manning Publications in 2021.
