Rust London is happy to announce the April Game Dev Special. The purpose is to shine a light on all the amazing thing being done in the realm of Game Development using the Rust Programming Language, we will have 3 speakers demoing their projects and sharing their experiences.

This event will be Live-Streamed due to the Corona-Virus Pandemic

Alex Ene is the lead of the Rust GameDev Working Group and he will be telling us why he thinks Rust is a great fit for game development, what the GameDev working group is & what it does. We will take a dive into the survey about Rust & game development as well as talk about important areas where people can help and get involved.

Olivia is currently a Senior Software Engineer at Twitter. Before this, she worked on a bunch of seemingly random things that have actually given her great perspective on working on different parts of the stack some of those include designing and building a backend for Daisie, shipping Amazon Video to a bunch of TVs and set-top boxes, building services for Office 365 at Microsoft and building games for kids at Xbox.
She will be demoing her game shes used to learn Rust and the insights she gained from that experience.

Phillipe will be giving a talk on how he got started with Game Development in Rust applying functional programming principles he took from Scala.
