After a spring/summer break, the Rust Prague Meetup is back!

Program:

  • Arto Gahr: eBPF, Aya and Network programming using Rust
eBPF is a kernel-level programming & observability tool that is getting more popular in the recent years. In this talk we will show what it is, what can be done with it, and describe relevant Rust tooling, with a short practical demonstration at the end.
  • David Marek Manca: SourceHut - A nerdy source code forge
If you are tired of mainstream Git forges, there is an alternative that is unique and has great features - SourceHut. Made by the author of Sway and Wlroots.
  • Lukáš "Chleba" Franěk - Rust + AI
Lukáš will present his experiences with developing local-first AI apps in the recent months. He will talk about performing first steps, choosing the right library, using offline models, the status of open-source packages and other things. From the start of a prototype to a deployed app that specialize in offline, local-first AI for consumer high-end PCs.

Let's meet on October 30 in Prague, room S9 at MFF UK, Malostranské náměstí! As usual, we expect a smaller group of attendees to seek a place to chat after the event. You're welcome to join.

The venue is provided by the Department of Distributed and Dependable Systems at the Faculty of Mathematics and Physics at the Charles University of Prague.

Refreshments are not provided at this event.

If you want to present a talk at either this meetup or any future meetup, talk to us at the discord channel or sign up here.
