Show and Tell in April

Join us for an exciting evening at the Trondheim Rust Meetup where enthusiasts and developers come together to explore innovative projects built with Rust. Whether you're a beginner or an expert, this meetup offers something for everyone.

For this evening we will have three presenter, each presenting a project they have built using Rust.

1. Johannes Røsvik - Image Optimization: Imagine tackling your first Rust project—sounds intimidating? Well, join us as one brave soul recounts their venture into Rust’s memory-safe harbor, armed with nothing but a fervent desire to compress images like a cargo ship! This presentation will walk you through setting up an Axum API, promising enough lifetime management jokes to keep your spirits high and your stack clean.
2. Sverre Johann Bjørke - GUI Development of an infowall application on a Raspberry Pi: Ever tried to make a Raspberry Pi more useful than a fruit pie? Hear about our quest to rustify an office infoscreen into something that actually wakes up on the right side of the bed. Equipped with Rust, our presenter transformed a humble Raspberry into a flashy GUI slave. Come for the code, stay for tales of the borrow checker taming an unruly heap of widgets!
3. Mats Jun Larsen - Slack Bot Shenanigans: Macro Fun with Rust What happens when a group of Rustaceans gets too much free time and a Slack workspace? This presentation will showcase how fun Rust can be when it’s not just a tool, but a playground for digital mischief.
