Rust projects - show and tell in March
Details
Rust Trondheim is a Meetup where enthusiasts and developers come together to explore fun and creative projects built with Rust. Whether you’re a beginner or an expert, this Meetup is for everyone!
For this evening we’ll have two presenters, each showing off a project they’ve built using Rust.
- Sverre Johann Bjørke - No more “Hello, { first_name }!” — Type-safe Word templates with Rust
Most of us have seen an email, letter, or website where a { placeholder } wasn’t filled in. Turns out we can avoid that! In this talk we’ll look at how we can make the compiler catch these kinds of mistakes, using Word templates as an example. - Eirik Blekesaune - An art project with Rust!
Eirik will talk about a project he helped an artist build, which is currently on display at K-U-K. It’s a system that controls a pair of motorized blinds, and the talk will cover how he used Tokio and Axum to make it all work. - Mats Jun Larsen - Voxel games in Rust
Mats will show the progress on his voxel game built in Rust using bevy for his master thesis. It is intended to demonstrate conflict free replicated data types in 3D space
Do you have something Rust-related you’d like to demo? Get in touch and we’ll find a spot for you! 🚀
