Rust Vienna Meetup - June - final meetup before a summer break

Join our Rust Vienna Meetup, where we dive into the world of Rust programming together.

We have had a very successful series of meetups this spring. We conclude with a final meetup before a summer break, with interesting talks and the opportunity to meet the great community.

The event will start at 18:00 with some time to arrive, find a seat and chat with other participants. Talks will start at 18:30 and after the talks, there will be enough time to meet the community over food and drinks.

Andreas will dive into the workings of the Entity-Component-System (ECS) using Rust, with a specific focus on the Bevy engine's implementation. He seeks to demystify how Bevy's ECS, often linked with game development, harmonizes with Rust's type system and its applicability in diverse fields like real-time systems and simulations. Andreas will compare ECS with traditional Object-Oriented Programming and showcase a brief code demo.

Aram will delve into his project Zellij, a terminal workspace with batteries included. He aims to unravel how Zellij, renowned for boosting productivity in command line environments, synergizes with Rust's performance and safety features. The talk will also explore the customizable plugin system, layout management, and the possibilities that Zellij offers for both developers and sysadmins in terms of workflow optimization and seamless terminal experiences.
