Rust Vienna Meetup - November

Join our next edition of Rust Vienna Meetup, where we dive into the world of Rust programming.

The event will start at 18:00 with some time to arrive, find a seat and chat with other participants. Talks will start at 18:30 and after the talks, there will be enough time to meet the community and enjoy some drinks.

Florian's talk will explore the topic of web backend development in Rust. There are several frameworks that bring the advantages of Rust into the development of webservices, such as APIs. One very popular framework is Actix Web, which offers a convenient way to build those services, as well as writing code that is easy to maintain. This talk gives a brief overview of the usage of this framework and shows how it can be used in production.

Max's talk will be divided into approximately three parts. In the first part he will introduce async Rust in general; what it is, why you need it and what problems it can solve. In the second part, he will show how to use it properly, pointing out typical challenges that can arise. In the third part, he will show which principles can be used to overcome these challenges.

If you have a lightning talk to present, please contact us in advance or approach us at the beginning of the event and let us know. We'll do our best to make time for as many lightning talks as possible, so don't hesitate to come prepared to share your ideas with the community.
