What we’re about
This online group is for flutists (at first), who love playing in band now or did so many years ago. For children, I recommend that you be interested in improving your playing; For adults, I will work with you to regain your skills so that you can play for fun and with friends. As long as you played through middle school, and if you practice, you will be ready to play again in a community band or at church within a few months. For this to work best, I suggest initially that we work individually, but small groups are possible if we take turns. Playing as a full group doesn't work with Zoom. I will investigate other platforms that may work better. Sessions will last approximately 30 minutes and are free.
Due to Covid-19 I would like to begin with flutes because I own several flutes. I will seek to obtain other band instruments, from a music store or a school district, when these open again. If you know that your instrument needs repair, I can suggest people who will repair your instrument by mail.
When Co-vid-19 is passed, we can meet at my home or continue on line, whatever we decide. I am a retired Licensed Instrumental Music Educator. I taught band and orchestra for 20 years and loved just about every minute! I hope you will consider this group!
