What we’re about
This group is for casual paddlers seeking new places to enjoy the scenic and local rivers of Central Virginia. Its not for seasoned veterans, racers, or long-distance boaters.
You must have your own boats, PFDs, gear, and the ability to transport them. I will send out an email before each event in the case of rainchecks, and to suggest a post-paddle lunch meetup location.
We will explore a few Lakes and at least 5 rivers not more than a hour's drive from Central Virginia:
- The Pamunkey
- The Mattaponi
- The James
- The Rappahannock
- The Piankatank
Our Season starts in May and goes through October, meeting every two weeks. We meet at designated put-ins at 10AM Saturday Mornings and paddle for about 2 hours.
Sunscreen, PFDs, Sunglasses and Water are are must.
Hats, Snacks, and Cameras highly recommended.
