Gillies Creek Park Cleanup

The Richmond DSA Eco-Socialist Working Group is hosting this cleanup at Gillies Park in the East End of Richmond. Join your comrades to pick up trash, build solidarity and make the world a better place. Newcomers welcome, bring a friend! Registration in advance is not required. Volunteers will be identifying trash, grasping it with pickers and putting it into bags. When a bag gets full or too heavy, the volunteers notify the event coordinator of the location for later retrieval. No special skills or training is needed. Just need the ability to walk, grasp trash with a picker, put it into a bag and carry the bag while walking. The event is scheduled for two hours from 10:00am to noon, but we will take whatever time someone can offer during that time period. Comfortable shoes are highly recommended. Glove, vests, pickers and bags will be provided (unless we run out). Street parking is available around the park.
