Seeing Design in Life - Mitochondria
Details
Tiny organelles called mitochondria, found in large numbers in most cells, constitute the power plant in our body. Our lungs take in the air we breathe and separate out the oxygen. Our digestive tract converts the food we eat into glucose. Mitochondria, in the process of cellular respiration, process the glucose and oxygen into adenosine triphosphate, or ATP, the energy currency we need to live. Despite their tiny size, mitochondria are incredibly complex. Did they evolve? Or might they have been designed? We will see that there is much evidence supporting a design hypothesis.
