Historical evidence for the risen Christ

The historical records claim that Jesus died on a cross, was buried, and then rose from the dead. Can we trust the records? Did he really rise? What do historians and critical scholars say? We’ll examine three ancient source materials:

• A creed that was recited before the New Testament was written.
• A hymn that was sung before the New Testament was written.
• The Gospel accounts, when they were written and their reliability.

Then we’ll ask: Based on ancient source material, what do historians and critical scholars consider historical? What is the best explanation for those source materials?
