Introduction to Web Components by Hayden Braxton

Details
If you’re not familiar with the term, Web Components refers to a set of DOM and CSS specs that when used together, allow us to build self-contained, shareable components for our web apps with the browser as our only dependency. With support for these specs at almost 100%, now is the time to familiarize ourselves with web components as more organizations and open source libraries adopt these new techniques. And it also never hurts to get better acquainted with the modern web.
In this talk, we’ll cover the following questions:
What specs are involved in building web components?
How’s browser support? (Spoiler alert: It’s pretty good!)
How does one build a web component? (We’ll build one from scratch. It’ll be great fun!)
How do web components differ from framework components?
What tools exist to ease the process of building web components?
