EQUIPMENT: You need your pistol, 3 magazines (minimum), a holster, a magazine carrier, flash light, and clear shooting glasses for the low light portion. You may use a hand held light or a weapon mounted light. Revolver shooters need the equivalent for their pistols.
You may also shoot a Pistol Caliber Carbine (PCC) in 22 LR, 9mm, 10mm, .40 S&W, or .45 ACP. These calibers ONLY--no .556, .300 Blk Out, etc.
--or--
A 12 or 20 gauge pump or semiautomatic shotgun. Birdshot or buckshot only for shotguns. NO Slugs or steel shot--they very dangerous and present a significant safety hazard. They can ricochet off the target and cause serious injury or death.
If you do not have a light for your long gun--don't worry. There will be adequate light in the bay to see the targets without a weapon mounted light.
Please bring it in a case or on a cart.
Short-Range Low Light Course of Fire
The Short Range Low Light Match follows IDPA safety principles. The targets are steel with a hit or miss scoring. The low light course of fire seeks to replicate real life scenarios where you are more likely to use carry-suitable handguns or you home defense weapon.
We will have four stages. We will shoot the stages during the late afternoon and then re-shoot them immediately after the sun goes down. Total ammo required for the match will be less than 150 rounds.
Remember to bring your flash light and clear shooting glasses for the low light portion. You may use a hand held light or a weapon mounted light.
