Backpacking into the Ansel Adams Wilderness (Red Cones)

This backpacking trip is intended for beginners or those that want to enjoy an easy trip into the wilderness. We camp at an established campground the first night in Mammoth Lakes, located on the east side of the Sierra. The next morning we hit the trail and trek 3-4 miles into the Ansel Adams Wilderness to Red Cones where we camp two nights. We do a day hike on the layover day to Red Meadows. I only take 5 backpackers on this trip as Wilderness Permits are limited. Those that have attended my Meetup posted Zoom (Backpacking – The Basics) presentation have been given advanced notice of this trip. There is currently only one spot left.
