This Valentine’s Day hike will be at Delta Meadows River Park, a hidden gem on the edge of Walnut Grove. 5 miles total, much of it along Snodgrass Slough. The trails are along the tops of levees, unpaved, but with firm footing even after rain, totally flat. Much but not all of the trail is shady. The park's main attractions are the waterscapes and the birds. Also on our hike is the KXTV/KOVR tower, the tallest structure in California, and the historic village of Locke, which we’ll walk thru before crowds arrive for the Chinese New Year celebration. We’ll end our hike shortly before the celebration begins, so everyone can choose whether to stay for it, or head for home.
Dogs OK. Rain cancels. Leader keeps a slow pace with frequent stops. Gear list and other information will be provided after approval.
Each participant will be required to sign the Sierra Club Sign-In & Waiver Form at the Trailhead. Leaders: Martin Farber 808.283.8988 [kowsoitwo@gmail.com](mailto:kowsoitwo@gmail.com) and Tracy Miller
