More than half a million people will complete a pilgrimage to Santiago de Compostela this year, while countless others will walk ancient, medieval, and modern pilgrim routes across Europe and beyond. For the past two decades, Dave Whitson has explored these paths. In this conversation, he will share why, despite concerns about overcrowding, the main route of the Camino de Santiago remains a meaningful and deeply rewarding experience. He will also encourage pilgrims to look beyond the well-traveled routes, drawing on insights from his recent six-month journey along historic pilgrim roads in Italy.

The evening will include a short presentation followed by a question-and-answer session and a book signing. Dave will be joined by members of the Southern Oregon Chapter of American Pilgrims on the Camino.

About our guest: Dave Whitson is the host of The Camino Podcast and the author of multiple Cicerone guidebooks covering routes in Spain and France. He has walked tens of thousands of kilometers on pilgrim roads around the world and is passionate about helping others discover the transformative power of pilgrimage
