6. SaarPython Meetup

Details
Dear All,
After a longer break, we are happy to be back with another in-person SaarPython Meetup group event.
Thanks to natif.ai GmbH for hosting the event.
Refreshments and snacks will be provided during the event. The capacity of the venue is limited, so make sure to RSVP early enough and to un-RSVP if you can't make it to the event.
See you for a round of interesting Python talks!

Talk 1:
Jonas Langhabel
Python (but confident) - Using static code analysis tools to make Python code ready for production
Most programming languages used in production are compiled... Python is not. This opens the door to a whole new class of problems at runtime. This talk discusses these and more avoidable problems, using live code and some of the most recent static code analysis tools.
Talk 2:
Sebastian Kalkowski
Testing with Hypothesis - How to make your code more robust and maintainable with automated fuzzing.
Having to deal with bugs in production is no fun, and often enough they are caused by exotic edge cases that we as programmers could have never thought of. (How do users even come up with these real-world inputs all the time?) This talk will explore:
- What property based unit-testing is
- Why it is useful for battle-testing your code
- And how the Python library Hypothesis can take coming up with and enumerating exotic edge-cases off your shoulders
Talk 3:
Yves Hilpisch
DIY Quantitative Stock Market Investing with Python
The talk illustrates techniques and data sources to construct your own investment portfolio with quantitative investment methods (without e.g. relying on an off-the-shelf robo advisor).
