About us
The SACA Golden Dragons Paddling Club was formed in 2014 and has built a strong team dynamic that is focused on fun, fitness, and family-centered teamwork. This multicultural team not only paddles hard with determination and coordination, but they also have a good time doing it. They gain strength in their diversity, but they are united in spirit. Their core foundation helps define them as a strong paddling team in and outside of dragon boat.
Want to give it a try? We’d love for you to join us! Most of our members had no paddling experience when they joined. We can teach you all you need to know and help you get into great shape and meet new friends. Come try it out and see for yourself why so many people have fallen in love with this sport. You’ll enjoy a great workout on Florida’s scenic waterways while meeting new people!

Join our team for an invigorating workout and a fantastic community experience. Whether you're a seasoned paddler or completely new to the sport, you're welcome to hop in a boat and learn the synchronized strokes. We offer a fun and supportive environment for everyone to enjoy the beauty of Tampa Bay from a unique perspective. Come paddle with us and discover the excitement of dragon boating!
Dragon Boating Intro:
- Health: Please do not attend if sick, watch for heat illness (hydrate, light clothes, take breaks if needed). Waiver required.
- Activity: Team paddling (10-20 per boat), steered by a steersperson. Great core/cardio workout.
- Newcomers Welcome: No experience needed, training provided.
- Bring: Water, sunscreen, hat, clothes/shoes that can get wet, an open mind and positive attitude.
- Practice: Veteran members assist new paddlers.
- When: Every other Saturday (may vary).

BEGINNER DRAGON BOAT CAMP 2026

Learn the fundamentals of dragon boat paddling, build strength and endurance, and master team synchronization in this beginner‑friendly camp.
## Event Details
- Dates: March 7 – April 25 (Race Day: April 25)
**Saturdays 3/7, 3/14, 3/21, 4/4, 4/11
**Sundays 3/29,4/19 - Time: 9:00 – 11:00 AM
- Location: Bob Buckhorn River Center, Tampa, FL
- Fee: $150 per participant — includes entry into the Tampa Dragon Boat Race as the grand finale!
