What we’re about
This group will be in-person only. About the title. Verdi is for opera, Petipa is for Ballet, Shakespeare is for theatre and poetry, Beethoven is for classical music, and Coltrane is for jazz. The groups goal is to learn about these art forms and enjoy them. I hope that people who are unfamiliar or do not think they like some of these art forms will give them a chance. For many years I mentored college students in other areas but was always good at clandestinely slipping these art forms in.
At the meetings we will watch DVDs, listen to music, read poetry, and discuss the meaning and relevancy of these forms today. I included history as topic as they all tie together.
