Mah Jong is a game that originated in China and involves skill, intelligence, quick calculations and luck . If you are up to the challenge, come and join us!

The purpose of the Sacramento Mah Jong Club is to get a group of Mah Jong enthusiasts together on a regular basis, usually every Wednesday and Friday evenings and every other Saturday or Sunday afternoon, for competitive fun. Local residents with prior Mah Jong playing experience are welcome to join to either learn and/or play the Hong Kong version. We require that all new members have prior playing experience with some version of Mah Jong and the organizers reserve the right to approve all memberships based on that criterion.

The Meetup’s rules for play and scoring, which closely conform to published rules/scoring for the popular Hong Kong version, have been developed within our group along with a format for competitive play. A copy of our rules and scoring is available via email, if requested.
