Day Hike (2B) Hope Valley Overlook Trail (Sacramento Group)

This year's "Fall Colors" hike is new to our schedule. 6 mi., about 1,400' gain. This is a very pleasant hike featuring Aspen groves that are particularly beautiful in October when their golden leaves reach full color. Most of the ascent is on the first 2 miles - a bit of a grind, but leader sets a slow pace with frequent stops. We’ll relax for lunch at a wonderfully scenic overlook high above Hope Valley, and return the way we came. Mostly shady along the trail, sunny at the overlook. Well-behaved owners (leader’s rules) with dogs on leash and under control at all times (park rules) are OK. Rain cancels. Gear list and other information will be provided after approval.
