Let's celebrate Earth Day with a hike. This event is co-hosted with Sierra Club Military Outdoors; veterans are especially welcome. It is open to everyone, including new or prospective club members, and offers an opportunity to learn about the Sierra Club's activities and conservation efforts.

We will enjoy a leisurely morning hike along a riverside recreational trail. Starting from the Harrington Way River Access, we'll follow the trail along the American River's shore to Hagan Park, where we will have lunch at the picnic tables. This route is approximately 8 miles round-trip and is flat.

Please bring your lunch and drinks, and apply sunscreen as the trail can be exposed to the sun. No pets. Rain cancels. Heat over 90° cancels. The hike will be led at a slow-to-moderate pace. Each participant must sign the Sierra Club Sign-In & Waiver Form at the trailhead.

There is a $7 parking fee (cash only). While Harrington has restrooms, there is no drinking water available. Shawn Britton, who can be reached at 408.242.5092 or smbritton@comcast.net
