Galaxy Formation and Evolution!

Details
Resolving galaxy formation and evolution at cosmic noon with Keck Observatory; Presentation by Sunny Rhoades - UC Davis.
High-resolution observations are key to understanding the movement of baryons through galaxies, the mechanics of feedback from star formation, and the role feedback plays in shaping the formation and evolution of early galaxies. The presentation will describe multi-scale studies that use Keck Observatory to understand how galaxies evolve by resolving early galaxies and their gaseous surroundings, and will discuss Sunny Rhoades' current work as an astronomy graduate student at UC Davis within this context.
Presentation begins at 7 PM; Zoom room and the physical location will open at 6:30 PM for mingling.
In-person: Carmichael Library, 5605 Marconi Ave., Carmichael, CA 95608.
