Andrew Hartridge is an amateur meteorite hunter and collector based in Sacramento, California. As a life-long all-around space nut he has traveled the world to observe astronomical events and to collect meteorites. When not in California, he can often be found roaming the deserts of the world seeking these space rocks.
Join us for a fascinating view into the science, excitement and the realities of meteorite hunting. We will discuss expeditions to the Chilean Atacama, the Moroccan Sahara and EVEN exotic places such as Grimsby, Ontario ! There will be opportunities to ask questions, handle some specimens and experience holding a 4.5 billion year old piece of our solar system.
Zoom room and physical location (Carmichael Library, 5605 Marconi Ave) open at 6:30 for mingling; presentation at 7 pm.
