Joy As a State of Being

Details
Choosing joy as a state of being - is it even possible?!
Joy often feels like something we “catch” when life is going well, rather than something we can choose. But when we look more closely, joy isn’t always about circumstances - it’s about orientation.
Joy can become a deeper current, rooted in how we meet life, even in its messiness. This doesn’t mean bypassing pain or pretending everything is fine - rather, it means cultivating an inner ground of gratitude, openness, and trust that allows joy to exist alongside sorrow, stress, or uncertainty.
So, is it possible? Yes - but it’s not a permanent “on switch.” It’s more like a garden we tend, again and again. Some days the weeds take over, but the soil of joy is still there, ready to sprout.
