Neurocat (https://www.neurocat.ai/) is a Berlin-based AI start-up specializing in testing, monitoring and improving the quality and security of artificial intelligence (AI) systems. Neurocat's focus is to improve their customers’ Machine Learning modules, particularly in the automotive sector. In this webinar, they will explain how they make AI applications safe, robust, non-discriminatory, and comprehensible while simultaneously improving their performance.
Presenters:
Joachim Lonien is COO at Neurocat, a Berlin-based AI startup focusing on testing and improving the quality of AI systems. Joachim spent the better part of a decade as a life scientist in the US before moving to Berlin where he started working for DIN, Germany’s standardization organization. At DIN he put together industry consortia on all things digital and orchestrated the first international technical standards on artificial intelligence. In this talk, he will introduce Neurocat and explain why measuring the quality of AI systems is paramount in the future, and explain why Neurocat is ahead of the curve.
Dr. Tarek R. Besold is CTO of Neurocat. He is an experienced researcher at intersection of Artificial Intelligence and Cognitive Science, working on a broad range of topics from trustworthy AI to cognitive systems and computational creativity. Previously, he was Chief Science Officer of Alpha Health in Barcelona within Telefonica’s moonshot factory (Telefonica Innovation Alpha), and a Lecturer/Assistant Professor in Data Science at City, University of London. Tarek serves as advisor to the Boston-based digital health team at Dalang Technologies, Inc. He is also chairman of DIN’s working group on AI standards and a member of the AI Expert Council of Microsoft Germany. He serves as Editor-in-Chief of Cognitive Systems Research (Elsevier) and is a frequent reviewer for high-profile AI and Cognitive Science conferences and journals.
