Welcome to the first Frankfurt AI Safety Meetup! 🎉

This is a friendly, open discussion group for anyone interested in AI safety whether you're completely new or already working in the field.

The goal of this first session is to meet each other, explore what AI safety is about, and begin building a local community interested in safe and beneficial AI. No prior knowledge is required.

What to Expect (Agenda):
This will be a relaxed and interactive session, not a formal lecture.
We'll spend time:

• Getting to know each other
• Introducing the basic ideas behind AI safety
• Discussing important questions and concerns
• Sharing perspectives
• Identifying topics for future meetups

There will also be time for informal networking.

Schedule

Arrival & Informal Networking (15 min)
Get settled, grab a drink if available, and meet other participants.
Welcome & Introductions (15 min)
We'll briefly introduce ourselves and share what brings us to AI safety.
Short Introduction to AI Safety (20 min)
A beginner-friendly overview covering:

• What AI safety means
• Why it matters
• Key challenges and open questions
• Different perspectives in the field

No technical background required.
Group Discussion (30 min)
Open discussion about:

• What concerns or excites you about AI?
• Which AI safety problems seem most important?
• What would you like to learn about?

All perspectives are welcome.
Future Topics Brainstorm (10 min)
We'll collect ideas for future meetups.
Open Networking (30 min)
Time to continue conversations and connect with others interested in AI safety.
