What we’re about
This is a group for exchanging insight about "Artificial Intelligence" in the context of global implications and how this rapidly advancing technology and toolset may impact our own neighborhoods.
The aim is to provide a point of coordination for various A.I. Safety meetup classes and presentations, locally and online. We are curious about learning and adapting to the rapidly evolving digital landscape which includes Web3 (Bitcoin, DLTs, NFTs, DAOs), Virtual Reality metaverses, and the future of quantum computing as well as fuel-less energy sources.
As locals from the Kanata suburb of the Nation's capital, a part of Silicon Valley North, with the National Defence Headquarters (Carling) a mile away, perhaps we can coordinate something of service for our neighborhoods.
Due to the small but real possibility of a critical situation arising from the rapid emergent properties of rogue A.I., it may be beneficial to have a local citizen's Rapid Response Task Force available on standby. Within this task force, a playbook for Kanata can be made.
We plan to have the following meetup themes:
FREE:
AI Safety - 101 Open Chat
AI Safety - General Meetup
PAID:
AI Safety - Rapid Response Task Force
AI Safety - Artist Task Force
AI Safety - Cashflow Task Force
AI Safety - NFT-gated VR Hackathon (24/7)
If you wish to be on the leadership team, there are open poistions for: co-organizer, assistant organizer, event organizer. Those interested in helping run the group, let the admin know.
Originally this group was created under a new Meetup.com umbrella community network called "Safety and Alignment Community for a Wonderful A.I." in order to facilitate the coming together of Specialists. For example, please see the "Ethical Hackers - Web App Sec" Group for their "AI Safety and Alignment Task Force" meetup by the same organizer. To escalate technological fun, you're most welcome to the "Dance a Hotbox Group".
