What we’re about
Sailors with OR without sailboats! Welcome to the best meetup URL on Earth - meetup.com/Sailing
- This free sailing-yachting group is live again after COVID and is your "second home" if you either (a) seek crew members for your sailboat and/or (b) want to crew – or "learn the ropes" and crew – on someone else's sailboat. Pacific Sailing Crew Seekers group helps competitive and recreational West Coast sailing racers and cruisers – from California to Washington state – to connect with others who know the proper answer to the 'Beach or mountains?' question.

THE SHORT VERSION... Pacific Sailing Crew Seekers is a meetup that connects sailors, helps sailing fans build teams/crews, and promotes sailing education. We don't do many social events or functions and focus on giving sailors a virtual place to collaborate and to share ideas and inspiration about sailing, boating and yachting. We went offline for 18 months during COVID but are live again as of November 2021. Please don't hesitate to contact the group founder (Sander Luke) with questions or ideas – he always responds within 24 hours.

THREE STEPS TO SAILING GLORY...
...STEP 1 is a no-brainer – join us.
...STEP 2: maintain your Pacific Sailing Crew Seekers group profile, watch for announcements, follow group discussions and reply to messages from other members for sailing opportunities.
...STEP 3: To connect with another Pacific Sailing member for a crew/team/racing opportunity (whether you do or do not own a boat), make an announcement or start a group topic in the Discussions section AND/OR browse members to view their profiles and message anyone directly for a sailing opportunity or a crew/team/racing idea.

YES, WE'RE BACK!...
...As the pandemic is nearly behind, the "revived original" Pacific Sailing meetup for crewing/racing/cruising teams is back online as of November 1, 2021.
...We're open (free) to new members with and without sail boats, as long as they take a moment to answer our short profile questions to facilitate member collaboration based on preferences and skill level.
...Even if you were a sailor-member prior to 2020, you must re-enroll (free) into our new 2021 sailing-yachting roster by subscribing to this group in order to reactivate your profile.
...Note – as Sander Luke (our original founder) recently moved from SFO to LAX permanently, he will never hold the name of your hometown (or your marina) against you... as long as you are a passionate sailor and don't talk seriously about politics – so don't, whether you're vegan or not.

IMPORTANT... Once you've joined Pacific Sailing Crew Seekers, look for our welcome email and follow the instructions to add your personal member intro to your group profile to help you connect with other sail boaters – your group member introduction is for our specific sailing group only and is NOT the same as your general Meetup app/site profile intro or your intro in other sailing groups... We know, this is a LOT of bla-bla-bla... but hey, sailor – you have only had to read this once. (and great job!!)
