Sailing Skill review and an afternoon sail

This will be our first meetup, and I’m excited to get this going. Come learn or practice some sailing skills on our 36’ Sloop.

We have limited space, so please only RSVP if you are 100% sure you’ll join us on Saturday.

When:

• Saturday 10/10 at 10:30

Where:

• Alamitos Bay Marina, Long Beach

What:

• Sailing Skills review
• A couple basic knots
• Points of Sail
• Tacking and Gybing
• A lazy sail
• depending on wind strength and direction we will either sail through Long Beach Harbor or off the coast of Seal Beach and Sunset Beach / Bolsa Chica.
• A recap on return
• We’ll return to the slip, enjoy some snacks and put the boat away over drinks of your choice.

What to bring:

• Water to drink
• lunch of some kind for yourself (sandwiches are suggested)
• BYOB

Note: this is not a class, this is a free meetup. Sailing can be dangerous. Participants should be 21+. While swimming is not part of this event, the ability to tread water and swim at least 50 yards is a safety requirement to attend. Alcohol should not be consumed before this event for the safety of all involved, and we do not provide alcohol.
