Nothing beats spending the afternoon on the lake except maybe spending the day in the park seeing the latest in outdoor recreational offerings during the Outdoor Adventure Expo. This year's event is scheduled for May 16 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Turkey Swamp Park, Georgia Road, Freehold Township.
Visitors are once again invited to try out kayaks, canoes, paddleboats, and the park system's 25-foot climbing wall. The expo will feature free lectures, demonstrations, mini clinics, nature hikes, and a children's fishing derby. Members of local outdoor adventure clubs will be on hand to answer questions and give advice, as well as representatives from companies that sell outdoor recreation equipment.
