Matanzas State Forest Group Hike!

Join us for our first group hike in Matanzas State Forest.

We will be meeting at the Double Gate Road entrance, located off of US1 approximately 2 & 1/2 miles south of 206. Look for the brown signs on the eastern side of US1!

If coming from the north (St. Augustine, Jax) it will be the second entrance on the left. If coming from the south (Bunnell, Palm Coast) it will be the second entrance on the right.

If you encounter a gate immediately & do not see a large grassy parking area, you are at the wrong entrance.

We will take you on a guided tour of the forest, to show you some of the most beautiful spots the forest has to offer.

The hike will be approximately 4 miles round trip. We encourage you to wear sturdy shoes designed for the outdoors - anticipate them getting a little dirty! Bring plenty of water, bug & sun protection, & snacks.

This forest is home to a diverse array of wildlife, including gators & snakes, so there is the assumption of risk associated with all outdoor excursions in Florida. We will demonstrate proper ettiquette when encountering wildlife, but do not assume responsibility in the event that an accident should occur.
