What we’re about
Remember when we were kids and we used to play, engage, create, explore and pretend? We weren't stressed out or checking our phones, and, we loved to connect in person. This meet-up offers grown-ups just that - recess - because it's not just kids that benefit from play. We'll enjoy the art of play via improvisation, laughter yoga and mindfulness exercises. We'll check our devices at the door in order to authentically, joyfully and intentionally interact with those around us using the one thing that brings us all together - laughter! Who knows what adventures might unfold as we immerse ourselves in cooperative, unscripted play?

Bring more joy, fun, and laughter into your life by learning how to get out of your head and into the moment, while making new friends, too!
Throughout this 6-week Level 1 intro class, students explore the basic concepts of improvisational theater in a warm, safe and supportive environment.
Level 1 Improv is designed to build self-confidence and explore creativity using the fundamentals of improvisation. Beneficial for both actors and non-actors, it will expose students to:
*Being – and responding - in the moment.
*Accepting and building on gifts from classmates.
*Embracing – and using - failure.
*Co-creating with others
*Thriving in an unscripted environment.The class will introduce students to the organic side of spontaneous ensemble comedy and the teamwork that cooperative play requires.
Students leaving this course will have a working understanding of the basic fundamentals of improvisational theater as well as an increased appreciation, and comfort, with being on stage - and in life - without a script.Start Date: Thursday, May 8
End Date: Thursday, June 12All classes are 6:30 – 9:00 p.m. at Third Space Improv in St. Augustine.
