Viy (1967)
One of very few horror films produced in the Soviet Union resulting in a bizarre folk horror vision unlike anything else. When a young seminary student is forced to pray over the body of a witch for three nights, he is set upon by a host of demons from hell.
Evil Dead II (1987)
When Ash Williams takes his girlfriend on a romantic getaway to a log cabin in the woods, they find a voice recording from an archaeologist who had recorded himself reciting ancient chants from the Book of the Dead, the Necronomicon Ex-Mortis.. As they play the recording, an evil power is unleashed.
