What we’re about

Unveiling the Masculine Heart - Men’s Retreat

“Why is it that the desires that we find deep in our hearts are so far from the life that we find ourselves living? There was a heart that we had as a boy, filled with wonder, dreams of battle, adventure, and beauty. Somewhere in that process of boy to man, most of us lose heart, and in order to find the life we are still looking for, we have to go back. We have to get those lost parts of our heart back.”

“Unveiling the Masculine Heart” explores how mortality takes its toll on our hearts, how we as men often respond and adapt in unhealthy ways. We will explore how we go to the wrong places to seek validation of who we are and often settle into artificial masculine roles that don’t really satisfy. We will learn to identify and renounce insecure adaptive behaviors, and ultimately we will get in touch with the innate goodness that God placed within our hearts.

Each of the 6-ninety minute sessions consists of viewing an engaging 20 minute video from “The Wild at Heart Experience” based on John Eldridge’s best selling book “Wild at Heart” followed by an open discussion led by the facilitator.

Session 1: The heart of a man
Session 2: The poser—everyone has two questions in life
